Moving things forward

This portrait is the result of one of many visits that I made to my friend's shop, during which we was able to catch up while I observed and sketched her at work. There was no actual sitting in this case, but I captured several scans of her during that visit and arranged them in series as a 3d model. I put this model aside and did not return to this thread until we were in the midst of the pandemic, after she had closed her shop and moved on to forward her pursuits beyond commerce. The white space between scans became the place to pour in the warmth of her presence, her commitment to the care of this one green Earth.
